Appeal by Haven House Children’s Hospice

Haven House Children’s Hospice, based in Woodford Green, is currently supporting 30 sick children and their families who live in Havering and is working closely hand-in-hand with the NHS to ensure that sick children and those approaching end of life but without COVID-19 can be safely brought out of hospital, thus freeing up essential hospital beds.

But, with 80% of the money it needs coming from voluntary income, and all its shops currently shut and events cancelled, the hospice is facing a fall in income of around £500k in the next 3 months alone. Though various forms of government support are providing short term relief, the medium term is very uncertain and the future of the hospice itself and its critical services are under threat.

The charity has launched an appeal and readers can find out more, both about the essential work of Haven House through this crisis and how you can support the hospice to continue, by visiting their website www.havenhouse.org.uk or calling Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive, on 07584 314 539.
