‘Be a Councillor’ Campaign
The Local Government Association (LGA) have launched their ‘Be a Councillor’ campaign. Based on the belief that people who live and work in a community are its best representatives in local authorities, political parties and groups, the LGA see increasing the pool of talent from which councillors are elected as being one of their key tasks.
Local government can only be as effective as the people running it and that means harnessing skills from people of all backgrounds and ages and encouraging them to put themselves up for election, so that the electorate get a choice of talented local candidates to chose from.
