Most of the event locations are close to where work has either started or will be starting this year. LTC construction teams will be available to talk about:

• Their plans, including surveys, ground investigations, archaeology, and the diversion of utilities
• Locations of the work compounds and sites, including vehicle access routes and working hours

At the Orsett Hall Hotel event they will also bring a new 3D model of the route, to give a clearer idea of what the final road will look like.

The winning design was by Arup and Seán Harrington Architects (under the name Team Horsycle).

Entries were judged on their use of low-carbon materials, construction methods and design, to give ease of access and a pleasant crossing experience.

The type of finance that this will involve will be decided by the government, and when it is in place, a decision will be made on the timings for the start of the main construction phase. Some minor works may begin in 2025, with anticipated construction taking six years.
