Christmas Tree Festival
We have received the message below from Upminster Methodist Church, regarding this year’s Christmas Tree Festival.
‘For obvious reasons it is with much disappointment that we are unable to hold our 10th tree festival at the Upminster Methodist Church in the usual manner this year. However, plans are in progress for an alternative festival, involving the Upminster and Cranham community. We are inviting anyone who wishes to join in, to erect a tree in their front garden from Saturday 05 December and create a community festival around the streets of Upminster and Cranham.
The theme is Rainbows, in acknowledgement of all the NHS has done this year, with colourfully decorated trees being encouraged. Contributors will be given a rainbow to go on the top of their tree, as a way of recognising it is part of the festival. There will also be an A4 laminated sheet given out to go on each tree, explaining that it is part of the tree festival. We plan to create at least one trail around the locality for people to spot the trees. We will also be setting up a Just Giving page with the intention of raising some money for First Step.
If you would like any more information or to take part in this festival then please send an email to Christmastreefestival2020@gmail.com . More details will continue to follow through the church website, Facebook and Instagram.
Let’s make the 10th Christmas Tree Festival one to remember, in a different way!’
