Cranham By-Election Result – Resounding Win for UCRA
The result of the by-election in Cranham Ward was declared in the early hours of this morning (Friday), with the Upminster & Cranham Residents’ Association (UCRA) candidate, Linda Van den Hende, being elected with a large majority.
Everyone at the Association and in particular the three Cranham Councillors, Gillian Ford, John Tyler and Linda Van den Hende, would like to give a huge ‘Thank you’ to the residents of Cranham and Dury Falls for placing their faith once again in the Residents’ Association to represent them on Havering Council. We will continue to strive to place local issues at the heart of what we do and represent the people of Cranham Ward to the best of our abilities.
As always, our thoughts are with the family of our former friend and colleague, Clarence Barrett, whose untimely passing necessitated this election.
The full results are available on Havering Council’s website and a summary below –

2,421 – Upminster & Cranham Residents’ Association
312 – Green Party

Cllr Linda Van den Hende
Congratulations, albeit expected. Air quality affects us all. Please press for a sign “NO IDLING OF ENGINES” (aimed at the diesel-engined taxi cabs) outside Upminster Station and along Hall Lane. It is, in fact, illegal.
Dear Michael,
We have previously had posts on the website and articles in the Bulletin regarding this subject, but I will certainly add a new one in the near future.
Kind regards
Cllr John Tyler
Mick is that you?
Well done to Linda Van den Hende and thank You for keeping out the Tories & Labour Parties We need to kick this Current Council Out
Congratulations Linda and to our other RA Councillors. I hope it is rubbed in to the Conservative Councillors who control our Council and who are ignoring our wishes on parking charges,Chapman’s Farm and the sequestration of the Mini Golf Course, that were we given the chance to elect all our Councillors again, like the rest of the Country, they would all be out of office.
I hope they take note as voters have long memories.
