The police in Havering have warned that we are still experiencing motor vehicles being stolen, which is happening across the Borough. These vehicles have keyless ignition and are stolen off of the front drive.

The have therefore given the following advice –

• Use a steering wheel lock to deter car thieves
• If possible, install a post/bollard onto your front drive
• Keep fob key(s) inside a faraday bag and keep this inside a metal tin. This helps to cut out the infra-red signal, the suspects need to steal your car
• Physically check your car is locked before entering your home
• Do not leave valuables on display inside your vehicle
