Electric Vehicle Charging Points – Havering rates poorly

Recently published Government figures for the number of electric vehicle charging points per 100,000 people has shown that Havering is in the bottom 20% of local authority areas in the UK. The figures show that in the borough we have only 11 charging points.

This news is a concern to the Upminster and Cranham Residents’ Association councillors, particularly as we have one of the highest rates of car use in the London area, and will be something that we will push to have significantly improved.

The Government is presently urging local authorities to apply for some of the £5 million funding available to help build up local charging infrastructure and increase access to charge points for drivers.
