Halifax bank branch to close in Upminster

The Halifax, a division of Bank of Scotland plc, have announced that the Upminster branch of Halifax will be one of 15 branches to be permanently closed. The Upminster branch will be closed from 26 October 2021.

This will be a sad loss for Upminster, as the Halifax is the last bank left in our town (the Nationwide being a Building Society). It is particularly unfortunate, as Hornchurch still has a significant number of banks despite having a smaller shopping area than Upminster.
