Following on from recent articles, the draft Local Plan (a strategic guidance document that covers all aspects of planning, housing, design, infrastructure and Green Belt over the next 15 years) is now out for consultation running up until 29th September. After that period, and taking on board any amendments, the Plan will be submitted to the Secretary of State for examination later in the year.

Of particular interest in the Plan are 78 applications from developers to remove land from the Green Belt for development, however there is no intention by the Council to alter any Green Belt boundaries. Also of interest is the housing growth target which is 17,550 over the 15 years and not the 30,000 which has been quoted elsewhere.
