Our local police Safer Neighbourhood Teams have urged residents to ‘Light up Havering’ and reduce crime.

• If you’re out all day, then it’s advisable to use timer switches to automatically turn lights and a radio on when it gets dark.
• Consider fitting door and window alarms. These can be cheap to buy and simple to fit.
• Double lock your doors and consider fitting a burglar alarm.
• If you go out in the evening, shut the curtains and leave lights on.
