Following on from our previous update on the problems of excessive noise coming from the M25, Cllr John Tyler has again spoken to National Highways.

They explained that following our initial contact and that of individual residents, our area is being used as a place where new types of noise reduction surfacing are being trialled. They are also looking at whether funding can be found to undertake other measures to reduce the noise.

One explanation given by National Highways for the many comments we received concerning the increased disturbance at night, is that overnight freight traffic, partly linked to online parcel deliveries, has increased significantly in the last few years.
