Merry Xmas to Ewe!
Oblivious to the rumble of the M25 and the harnessing of solar energy, over 100 sheep graze contently beneath and around the Cranham Solar Park which covers some 13.6 acres.
The farm, which is located in St Mary’s Lane, just past the golf course and alongside the M25, houses 11,316 individual panels situated along 44 rows which creates up to 3MWp (mega-watt peak) of output.
The park is operated by Wirsol, and has a serviceable life of about 25-30 years, after which it will be returned to its former appearance.
At least it stops the green belt being built on.
