Planning application at former Ruskin’s site refused

Havering Council have confirmed that they have refused the latest planning application at the former Ruskin’s site, on land immediately east of Coopers’ Company and Coborn School in St. Mary’s Lane, Upminster.

Reasons given for refusal include the ‘…harmful impact on the character and appearance of the green belt…’ and the fact that there are enforcement proceedings currently being undertaken by the council regarding the breach of a planning condition relating to the same land, following a previous approved planning application several years ago for houses adjacent to the site.

For details of the planning application and the reasons for refusal see P1963.22 – Land to the south of St Mary’s Lane .
