Police advice re vehicle thefts
Our local police Safer Neighbourhood teams have once again repeated the importance of taking measures to prevent keyless thefts of vehicles, following more recent crimes. CCTV obtained from one of the thefts shows that it can take just a few seconds to steal a vehicle if it is not properly protected.
The police advise owners to buy a faraday bag to keep their keys in, to stop thieves accessing the signal given by the key. These can be bought online for under £10.
They are also advising people to invest in a good-quality steering lock.
Further advice can be found on the crime prevention section of the Met Police website.
