Rubbish collections – Important information

Many roads in the Upminster, Cranham and Dury Falls areas did not have their normal rubbish collections yesterday (19 March 2020). However, Havering Council have said that these roads should be completed today. With current staff shortages likely to continue for some time, this may be a common occurrence.

Havering Council have told us that regular rubbish collecting is one of the services that they will concentrate on maintaining, as it is a public health issue. However, the priority will be given to black bag and orange bag services and so at present they have suspended all green bin and bulk waste collections.

For up to date information on the current status of waste collections and to find out the roads where collections have been missed see the Havering Council website.

The Gerpins Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre is apparently working normal hours at present. However, in the current climate, it is worth checking on the Council’s  Gerpins Lane website page before attending.
