Save Our Shops (SOS) – Don’t forget to Protest!

Just a reminder for anyone who is thinking of joining the Save Our Shops (SOS) protest, it is at 6.45PM this Wednesday (10th) outside Romford Town Hall.

Parking is available in the Town Hall car park but due to the recent parking increases you will have to pay £1.50! However, there is free on street parking nearby or you can park in the Western Road car park and get your money refunded by ASDA if you spend £5 in store. The 248 bus from Cranham and Upminster stops outside Romford Library, which is right next to the Town Hall.

Please join us at the protest. The more people that come and show that they care about our town centres, the more likely it is that the current Administration will take notice and bring back the free 30-minute parking in Upminster and Hornchurch.

  1. As a resident of Brentwood, (Upminster side) I regularly shop in Aldis in Upminster. I have a disabled passenger with me and the free half hour is just enough time for me to shop while my passenger waits in the car. The free parking means that I am supporting Upminster shops on a regular basis. To start charging is yet another blow to struggling town centres and pensioners alike.
