I refer to the article regarding the”Green Flag” award to Upminster Park. It mentions that the Park is, rightly, the home of the Upminster Cricket Club. However, it is also the home of the Upminster Hockey Club.
It may be of interest that the Hockey Club was invited by the Rector of St Laurence church, the Rev. Holden, to establish a Club on the then Glebe Land in1923, three years before the Cricket Club were so invited. The pavilion is managed by a Committee representing members of both Club.
