Tea and Talks Program at the Old Chapel

The Friends of the Old Chapel, are holding a series of ‘Tea and Talks’ in the Old Chapel, St. Marys Lane, Upminster RM14 2QR (next to Sacred Heart of Mary Girls’ School). All talks start at 10.30am and are free to registered members or £2 for visiting non-members.

Wednesday 12 February – Nick Dobson – Underground Guide to Historic London. A virtual tour of London by tube, stopping off to look at places of historic interest.

Wednesday 11 March – Gemma Smith – John Wesley Guide to Staying Healthy. Our Gemma returns to talk about John Wesley, perhaps the first person concerned with healthy living and eating.

Wednesday 08 April – Lois Amos – Romford Civic Society. The forming of the Romford Civic Society and the work which they do.

Wednesday 13 May – William Davis – Gidea Park and the 1911 Exhibition Estate. A talk about the houses on the Exhibition Estate in Gidea Park and their designers.

Wednesday 10 June – Michael Gilbert – 1851 and the Great Exhibition. A talk about Prince Albert and his Great Exhibition.
