Upminster Police Office – Decision due this week
The Residents’ Association have been campaigning to retain the Police Safer Neighbourhood Office in Upminster since plans were announced in September 2017 to close it (see original report) and over the last few months have made a number of representations to the Borough Commander, insisting that the office in Corbets Tey Road be kept in use.
The Cranham and Upminster Police teams work out of the office, maintaining close access to the two wards. Current Police proposals include moving both teams out of the area, which would be totally unacceptable for the needs of residents and the increase journey time pressures for the police teams.
We have been advised that a final decision on its’ future is to be made this week and hope our comments have been taken into consideration and that the police office will be retained. As soon as a decision is made we will provide an update.
