The Friends of Upminster Windmill have sent us the following message regarding the opening of their garden on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 April 2022 – 

We are still awaiting the completion of the restoration of the mill but, in the meantime, we have decided to open our award winning garden to visitors from 1100 hours to 1600 hours on both Saturday and Sunday over Easter. The grounds around the mill will also be open and, weather permitting, the sails will be turning.

There will also be an opportunity to sample the technological displays that we are developing to help people to learn about the mill. These too have won a prestigious award, including a £1000 prize. There is still much to be done but we are sure you will be impressed.

It will not be possible to park in the field, but the Council’s car parks are free over Easter. The closest one is at the New Windmill Hall, just across the road.
