Havering Council has launched a new virtual parking permit system for online applications, meaning that a paper permit will not need to be displayed in the vehicle concerned. Parking enforcement officers will be able to identify virtual parking permits by using a number plate scanner.

There will still be an option to have paper permits for visitors, but residents will also be able to activate visitor permits using the new online system.
