  1. As a resident of Corbets Tey am I alone in tiring of this yearly debacle?
Fortunately I do not live on the main route from Upminster but I still hear the continuous horn-blowing and crowd shouting that goes on over the two days. Parklands is used by the festival goers on foot as either a thoroughfare or a place to urinate. Leaving my house by road is not a big issue as the stewards at the end of my road are friendly. But depending on the time of day the return trip can be a dull long wait in a traffic queue because people seem incapable of following the road diversions and instructions. On top of all this there is the seemingly inevitable ‘melt down’ at the venue itself. Today (Sunday) there is an item on the BBC news website with regard to what happened the day before. When the de-brief with the organisers takes place please show them the twitter feed linked to this news item. People kept waiting at the entrance for up to 4 hours in the heat. People fainting. No access to water (organisers tell them not to bring food or drink). In the end security broke down and people walked unhindered into the venue with no security check at all. Its a shabbily run event and does no one any credit. Not sure who is enjoying it other than the money-makers.
