As fireworks season approaches, the RSPCA have launched their #BeAKindSpark campaign, to help reduce their impact on vulnerable people, pets, and other animals.

In 2023, the RSPCA received over 1,200 reports of animals affected by fireworks, with 67% due to backyard displays. Neighbourly tensions also rise during this period, and more than half (55%) of UK pet owners dread the season. Many feel awkward or reluctant to speak up, with 30% feeling isolated by the issue.

That’s why they have created the RSPCA Kind Sparks guide, designed to help the public better understand the struggles of those affected by fireworks.
