Havering Council have advised that employees of the contractor that collects household rubbish will be going on strike from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026.

The company has apparently put contingency plans in place and will be bringing in staff from outside our area to cover the rounds, collecting black and orange sacks as normal. However, some disruption to garden waste and communal bin collections is possible.

Residents are advised to leave their sacks outside their homes as normal, but to check the council website havering.gov.uk for updates, in case there is any disruption.
