New ticketless parking payment machines
After several years of many of the pay and display parking machines in Havering being frequently inoperable, the council have started to install new machines across the borough. They hope to have installed all of the machines by 09 February 2024.
Locally, we will have new machines in Wilson Close car park (behind Aldi), Corbets Tey Road (opposite the park), Hoppy Hall car park (Corbets Tey Road), Front Lane (at the bus terminus) and St. Mary’s Lane (between Waitrose and Upminster Infants School).
The new machines will accept contactless payments by debit or credit card and will accept smartphone payments (Applepay and Googlepay).
For those people who wish to pay by cash then the following procedure will be available at the above locations –
- Note the location reference number displayed on signs where you are parked
- Make sure you know the registration number of the vehicle you wish to pay for
- Go to one of the local shops with Paypoint facilities – see consumer.paypoint.com/ for locations
Paypoint facilities local to the locations mentioned above are –
- Londis Supermarket, 113-115 Corbets Tey Rd, Upminster RM14 2AA
- Smokers Paradise, 40 Station Rd, Upminster RM14 2TR
- Fags & Mags, 9 Willow Parade, Moor La, Cranham RM14 1DZ
As highlighted in our previous post last year, certain locations where there are only a small number of parking bays do not have payment machines. At these locations, payment will continue to be by Ringo cashless parking app, by phoning Ringo on the number shown on signage, or at the PayPoint locations listed above.
