Council Tax energy bills rebate

Havering Council have announced that the Government’s one-off payment of £150 to households in Council Tax bands A to D, who are not exempt from Council Tax, will today (Thursday 19 May 2022) be paid into the accounts of residents who pay their Council Tax by Direct Debit.

For those who do not pay by Direct Debit, an online application system will be made available before the end of May 2022.

A Discretionary Rebate Scheme for those who need help with their energy bills but are not eligible for the £150 payment, will be made available by the council in due course.

For further details see the Havering Council Energy bills rebate 2022 webpage.

Upminster and Cranham Residents’ Association councillors will be asking the council for details of how residents who do not pay by Direct Debit and are not able and/or willing to apply online, can obtain the rebate. We will update residents on our website and in the Bulletin when we have more news.
