EV Charging Points Consultation – Corbets Tey Road

Havering Council is installing electric vehicle charging points in residential streets and Council operated car parks across the borough over the coming months. They would like to hear your views on proposals to introduce electric vehicle charging units and parking bays in Corbets Tey Road, Upminster (next to Upminster Park).

A plan showing the proposed location of the bays is below and further information on electric vehicles and charging provision is available via Proposed Electric Vehicle Charging Parking Bays .

The proposals include converting some of the bays to become EV charging bays only, to be used by electric vehicles for the purposes of charging their vehicles. These will be operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a 6 hour maximum stay period and vehicles parked in these bays must be on charge.

The bays shown on the plan as DUAL will remain as Pay and Display parking bays, with a maximum stay period of 3 hours, no return within 2 hours and motorists will not have to use the EV charging point, unless they wish too. However, for motorists not using the EV charging point they must still pay for the time they wish to park, during the restricted period.

Full details, including relevant orders, are available for inspection for a period of 21 days from 14th February 2025 at havering.traffweb.app .

Please send any comments by email to schemes@havering.gov.uk no later than Friday 07 March 2025. Alternatively, you can write to the Head of Highways, Traffic and Parking, Havering Town Hall, Main Road, Romford RM1 3BB. Any objections must state the grounds on which they are made.
