The formal ceremony, designating Fleet Close Green in Cranham as a Village Green, took place on Saturday 13 July 2024.

A sizeable number of local residents came along and heard from councillors, including the Leader of Havering Council, that the area was the first of several in Havering to be given Village Green status, meaning that it will be preserved for the community into the future by legally preventing it from being built on.

Thank you to everyone involved in achieving this, which was one of the Residents’ Association pledges following the local elections in 2022.
