Gallows Corner to be open by the end of April 2026
Transport for London (TfL) have released the following statement regarding the delayed works to replace the Gallows Corner Flyover in Romford.
‘We can now confirm that Gallows Corner junction (including the flyover) is planned to re-open to general traffic by the end of April 2026, with all diversions and traffic management removed.
Until then, the junction will remain closed to all vehicle traffic except emergency services, black cabs and Transport for London buses, while the essential works continue to renew and strengthen the ageing flyover.
We’re sorry for the disruption caused by this essential work at Gallows Corner, and we understand the impact this has had on people in the area. Though we know local people are disappointed by the delays to these works, we have worked with all parties to ensure that the work is carried out with the least amount of additional disruption.
You can find regular updates on the remaining progress of the works via our monthly newsletters on our dedicated Gallows Corner project webpage.
We’re working hard to complete the remaining work as quickly as possible and would like to thank everyone in the area for their patience during this important work.’
