Hall Lane to be closed again

Cranham Ward Councillors have been advised that Hall Lane will once again be closed for utility works relating to the development of the mini golf site.

We have recently been told that last summer, when Houlihans excavated to make a connection to the public sewer, they discovered the drawings provided by the client and the water authority, were incorrect. The sewer they were due to connect into didn’t actually exist and works stopped.

The water authority has now confirmed the location of the connection and Houlihans have made an application to Havering Council to undertake the works.

Traffic lights control is proposed to commence on the Monday 18 March 2024 for 11 days, followed by a road closure from Friday 29 March (Good Friday). They hope to complete works by Sunday 07 April 2024 but have added a one week contingency, with reopening no later than 14 April.

With regard to bus services, the extended 346 bus route should have commenced by the time these roadworks start, providing a 20-minute service between Harold Hill & Upminster. During the closer, the bus will be divert via Avon Road, Front Lane & Ingrebourne Gardens in both directions, maintaining services to all of the route except between Ingrebourne Gardens and Avon Road junctions in Hall Lane. The route 248 bus is also likely to be diverted via Ingrebourne Gardens.

Houlihans are looking to hold a public engagement event at Upminster Library. We will share details when we have them.

  1. Just how are people who are going to the doctors or dentist in Ingrebourne gardens going to park
    Especially those of us disabled.
Last time appointments had to be cancelled. Totally unacceptable and ridiculous.
    Just like ULEZ.
