London City Airport expansion blocked

Towards the end of 2022, the owners of London City Airport submitted a planning application to Newham Council to expand the use of the airport (See our previous London City Airport expansion post).

We have been informed that Newham Council have rejected the application, citing noise pollution and environmental effects from extra flights.

The airport’s owners have apparently indicated that they intend to appeal. If this happens, there may be a public enquiry.
