Part of Fen Lane closed for six weeks

Havering Council have informed us that Fen Lane will be closed from its junction with Ockenden Road for nearly half a mile, from Friday 15 September until Sunday 29 October 2023. This is for the installation of fibre optic and other cables.

  1. I am a local resident and the very long on going closure of Fen Lane is costing me extra money in fuel as well as journey time on my regular route to Freshfields care home

I feel some sort of compensation should be made to local residents, or could a traffic light system be installed

I await to hear from you

    • Dear Jayne,

I do have sympathy with your situation but the works are being undertaken by a private company, who have the legal right to do this and are not obliged to pay compensation. The previous works meant that Fen Lane was totally blocked for periods and this is likely to be happening again, hence the diversion.

      Cllr John Tyler
