PCNs cancelled in Front Lane car park

On Monday 01 April 2025, Cllr Gillian Ford spotted wardens issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) to vehicles parked in the council car park in Front Lane, Cranham (next to the train deport), despite the parking machine being missing, as it had been knocked over by a bus the previous week, and no other signage being present concerning the use of the Ringo app.

Unfortunately, this was not an April Fools’ joke by the wardens, and Cllr Ford had to intervene to point out that PCNs should not be issued in such circumstances. She then contacted the relevant department at Havering Council, who immediately cancelled the PCNs that had been issued.

In the unlikely event that anyone else receives a PCN in the car park while the machine and signage are missing, they should take a photo of the car park (showing that there is no machine or signage), and appeal via the method shown on the PCN.
