Penalty Charge Notice fees rise

Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) fees will rise across London (including Havering) on 07 April 2025.

There are different levels of PCN fines, depending on the offence but, as an example, a £60 PCN (reduced to £30 if paid within 14 days) previously imposed, will now rise to £90 (£45 if paid within 14 days).

We would mention two things in particular to be aware of if you want to avoid being issued with a PCN –

  • Be careful of yellow box junctions. The only time you can normally stop in them, is if you are turning into a side road across oncoming traffic and that traffic is preventing you doing so.
  • If you are parking in a council car park or marked street bay, make sure you are parked wholly within the bay, and not over the lines.
