Potential planning application – Land south of Kerry Drive, Cranham
Cranham councillors have been made aware of a potential future planning application to build homes on Green Belt land south of Kerry Drive, Cranham, to the east of Heron Way. This land is next to the Cranham Brickfields community nature reserve.
At this stage we have only basic details but nearby residents are being sent invitations to attend a community consultation event being run by Inland Homes between 3.30pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday 17th September at The Old Chapel, St. Mary’s Lane, Upminster (next to Sacred Heart School). Details of the event can be found via this link.
We should emphasise that the plans are apparently only in the early stages but, being on Green Belt land, are likely to be controversial.
We would urge residents to attend, view the information and give their opinions. Cranham councillors will, of course, also be attending.
It has been pointed out to a representative of Inland Homes that it is not helpful that the consultation event is being held outside of the Cranham area but they claim that they were unable to book anywhere closer.
We will keep you updated with any further developments regarding this proposal via this website, The Bulletin and social media.

I run the local community centre in Marlborough gardens and we would have had a room for this meeting any day anytime but no one contacted us….strange and a blatant lie!
Need to fight this all the way. Upminster and Cranham’s infrastructure is already at breaking point. Can’t hardly move throughout town now in the mornings due to heavy traffic. This will only make matters worse. More importantly Kerry drive is not a sufficient enough road for access to a housing estate. Anyone who has ever driven down this road and surrounding area knows this.
