One of our residents has asked us to highlight the extended list of items that can be put into the orange recycling sacks, plus information regarding glass recycling banks.

‘Glass recycling banks are currently still in situ but are due to be removed by the end of the year. It is important to ensure that residents know what can now go into orange sacks – not just for when recycling banks do go but also to raise awareness of the additional items that can now be recycled.

The Waste Minimisation Team are putting stickers on recycling banks and have been putting the information on noticeboards throughout the Borough:

It’s very important to ensure that levels of recycling are maintained when recycling banks are removed, although ideally the amount of waste generated in the first place should be reduced.’
