Unlicensed waste carriers
Fly tipping is a problem across the country but is something that we suffer from locally, particularly in the country roads around Upminster and Cranham.
Havering Council have recently been carrying out operations targeting unlicensed waste carriers. As part of this they have reminded residents that if they pay a company to take away waste, they are also responsible for ensuring that the company are licensed to do so. Failure to do this can result in a resident being issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) of £400, or even prosecution with an unlimited fine and criminal conviction.
