Update on incident on Saturday at We Are FSTVL

To update you on the We Are FSTVL, following the widely reported incident at the entry point yesterday (Saturday), the Council and Police undertook a review with the organiser, focusing on the processes of entry and security. At the time of the incident, Council Officers were present in the Event Control Room monitoring the situation, while the Police worked with the Event Organisers as first responders.

The aim was to ensure that today was incident free, especially regarding access to the site.  The adaptations made to the entry process overnight has resulted in successful and safe entry for all festival goers today. More buses have also been laid on today, which will be of help when people leave the site this evening.

The issues which lead to yesterday’s events will be reviewed in line with the organiser’s License, and in liaison with the Police.

Upminster Councillors have asked to be included in the debriefing meetings to ensure there is not a repeat of Saturday’s incident.
