Following the sad and untimely death of Councillor Linda Hawthorn, there will be a by-election held in the Upminster Ward. At the time of writing, the date has not yet been decided.

Do you support the principles that local councils should be run without national party politics getting in the way?

Do you follow the Residents’ Association and want to get more involved? Have you ever considered representing the residents in your area as a Councillor?

If so, you might consider seeking to stand as the UCRA candidate in the by-election.

Nominations of any Member of the Association (i.e. anyone in a household that has paid the annual subscription of £2 within the past year) as a proposed candidate for the Upminster and Cranham Residents’ Association in the by-election must be sent in writing to Mike Long, the Hon. Secretary, using the official nomination form by 08 July 2023.
