Wildlife Hospital help Dove from Above

dove 4I recently came across an injured dove in my garden and wasn’t quite sure how to help the animal. I contacted the local vet who helpfully put me in touch with the South Essex Wildlife Hospital which is based in Orsett. Having been unaware of its existence, I promptly drove to the hospital where the dove was taken in and is now on the road to recovery.

Each year the South Essex Wildlife Hospital receives around 10,000 sick, injured or orphaned animals in need of care and help. The hospital never turns away a sick animal and, when recovered, they are released back into the wild. However, it is vital to call the hospital on 01375 893893 ahead of any visit.

The hospital needs to meet the ongoing costs of veterinary treatment, food, bedding and utility bills and is completely reliant on charity, donations and volunteers to carry out its invaluable work.

The Hospital is based nr Orsett (RM16 3BH), to find out more and how to help visit http://southessexwildlife.org/
