With reference to our previous post regarding an application for a Request for Screening Opinion’ in regard to an outline planning application for 570 houses on ‘Land off Benets Road, Hornchurch’, Havering Planning Autorities Screening Response has now been published, stating that Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will NOT be required as part of any future planning application made.

The Planning Department have made it clear to councillors in Cranham and Emerson Park wards that this is a purely technical assessment and in no way prejudices the council’s future decision making powers, nor provides any commentary on whether any subsequent proposal would be supported or not.
