Upminster Windmill in St. Mary’s Lane will be open and the sails turning subject to weather conditions, between 10am to 4pm on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September 2025 as, with Thames Chase, they celebrate the heritage and restoration of the two sites.

There will be activities for all ages – learn about the families who owned the windmill during its working life and try to identify the use for some of their personal and domestic possessions from an earlier age. For children there will be the chance for some ‘practice archaeology’!

There is also free entry to an exhibition of photographs from Upminster Camera Club, celebrating their 70th anniversary.

Windmill tours are available both days – Adults £6, Children £2 [Minimum height 100cm]. Closed in footwear is required. Entry is free to the site, the garden and the visitor centre

The garden and the visitor centre will also be open on Sunday 28 September 2025 from 11am to 3pm, where you can relax with tea/coffee and a cake in the garden.
