We would like to send congratulations to our local football club, Hornchurch FC, who yesterday (06 February 2021) beat Maidstone United 5-4 to reach the quarter finals of the FA Trophy. In what was apparently a thrilling match, the winning goal came deep into stoppage time at the end of the 90 minutes.

For the fourth round in a row, their opponents were from a division or more above them and Hornchurch are now the only club below Step 2 left in the competition.

They now go into the draw with ex-League clubs Notts County, Torquay United, Darlington, Aldershot Town/Chesterfield (who are yet to play their last 16 match), phoenix club Hereford FC, plus Oxford City and Woking FC.

Lets hope that Hornchurch get a home draw and, whoever they face, can keep the dream alive of a first ever Wembley final!

Update to the above – Hornchurch have been drawn away to Darlington!
