Former Residents’ Association Councillor and Council Leader, Louise Sinclair, passes away aged 97
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former Residents’ Association Councillor Louise Sinclair who passed away in the early hours of 4th November, aged 97.
Louise represented the residents of Cranham as a Havering Councillor for 38 years, being first elected in 1968 until stepping down in 2006.
Louise was twice Mayor in 1988/89 and 2004/05 and also served as Leader of the Council in 1996/97 and between May and December 1997 – the only woman leader of Havering Council in its 53-year history.
As well as serving on wide range of Council committees, she was also a Freeman of the Borough and an Honorary Alderman.
Tributes will be paid to her at the forthcoming Full Council meeting on 21st November.
The funeral will be at 10am on Tuesday 13th November in the South Chapel of Upminster Crematorium.
