Gallows Corner works update (01 August 2025)
Main Flyover Works
Preparation of the east and west abutments and foundations is ongoing, in readiness for the commencement of construction. Some inconsistencies have been identified between current site conditions and historic as-built drawings. However, appropriate solutions have been developed and are being implemented. Localised foundation repairs are underway to ensure structural integrity.
Delivery of steelwork is scheduled to begin next week. Installation of steel structure will commence in phases, to allow this to be undertaken alongside the completion of the foundation works.
The overall construction programme is currently under review, pending completion of foundation works, with reopening of the flyover still expected in September.

Directional drilling is continuing. Reaming heads for the enlargement of the tunnel for the pipework, have been changed. The pipe for the water main has been delivered on site and is laid out in readiness for installation. The ESW construction programme on-track.
