Havering Council propose ‘Express Parking Bays’ for Hornchurch and Upminster
We have been informed that Havering Council’s Conservative Administration are proposing a six month trial of free 30-minute parking bays in selected areas of Hornchurch and Upminster.
The full report is yet to be published but it has apparently been signed off by the Cabinet Member for the Environment.
Whilst the Upminster and Cranham Residents’ Association councillors will need to see the details of the report, the proposal is likely to do little to redress the damage to our town centres, caused by the new parking charges that were brought in last year, unless it applies to ALL council parking bays, both on-street and in car parks, in Upminster and Hornchurch.
We will keep you informed of further details when we have them. The limited current information is available to view via this link.
Too late and too little.
Why can’t they just do the obvious, who cares if they lose face, what happened to credibility.
Upminster will be a ghost town soon enough if not.
