National Cyber Security Centre – New password advice

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has issued updated advice on choosing passwords for online accounts. Previously, it has been recommended that a series of random characters would provide the best protection but they are now advising that three random words should be used instead.

The NCSC technical director Dr Ian Levy said: “There are several good reasons why we decided on the three random words approach, not least because they create passwords which are both strong and easier to remember.”
