We often get told about scams, where fraudsters try to trick people or businesses out of money.

One of our residents recently had a man in a high-viz jacket knock at his door, stating that he worked with the contractors who were resurfacing the pavement and had finished early for the day. The man offered to power-wash the driveway for a cheap fee.

The resident knew all of the contractors by sight and recognised that the man wasn’t one of them. He turned the man down, closed the door and then called the police.
