Thames Chase events in December 2023
Thames Chase Visitors Centre in Pike Lane, Upminster have two prominent events in December 2023 which they have asked us to highlight.
Heritage Walk
They start the month with their December Guided Heritage Walk on 01 December 2023, which will begin and end at Thames Chase. The walk will be from the Visitor’s Centre to St Mary Magdalene Church in North Ockendon, which dates from about 1170 AD.
There will be an opportunity to explore the interesting churchyard, see the peaceful St Cedd’s pond and spring and some of the interesting buildings in Church Lane. Everyone will walk back along peaceful downhill paths to return to the visitor’s centre where you will be welcomed with a hot drink and a mince pie.
This walk is suitable for age 16 years and over. Please wear suitable clothing.
Please note all timings are approximate depending on weather and amount of attendees. Parking and toilet facilities are available at Thames Chase.
Friday 01 December from 10.30am-1pm. The cost is £3.50 per person.

Thames Chase Christmas Celebration 2023
Join them at Thames Chase this Christmas on 17 December 2023, from 10am-3pm for a truly magical celebration!
Their festive timetable of the day includes:
- 10.30am – Havering Music School Brass Orchestra
- 10.30am – Christmas Eve Box Decorating (fee payable)
- 11am – Hilary Barkwith – Harpist
- 1pm – North Ockendon Handbell Ringers
- 1pm – Christmas Eve Box Decorating (fee payable)
- 2pm-4pm – A special visitor from the North Pole……..
- 2.30pm – The Capella Singers of Upminster Choir singing Christmas Carols
There will be a selection of stalls and lots of fun arts and crafts to keep the little ones entertained. The Thames Chase Forest Centre Tea Room will also be open. They look forward to seeing you!
