Upminster Baptist Church nativity scene

Upminster Baptist Church has benefited from collaborative working to produce and install a wonderful nativity scene outside their church in Springfield Gardens. The story of the nativity is displayed alongside it for all to read. Passers-by are invited to enter a colouring competition by collecting an entry pack from outside the Church.

The life size figures were built by the Men’s Shed and the figures were painted during an all-day painting event attended by church members, local residents and scout leaders. The scene comes to light in the evening thanks to the skills of a local resident.

Margo Connor, Deacon said “This project is a wonderful way of sharing the story of the nativity and a great example of what can be achieved by the community and church working collaboratively, it’s well worth coming along to see.”

The scene will stay in place until Tuesday 11 January 2022.
